Bicycle thieves! Let’s see you break through this one! Located in Portland, the Spalding Building has, by the looks of it, the safest place to park a bicycle on earth. Previously, these vaults stored money, and a lot of it, given that they were at one part of their lives, bank vaults. Repurposed into bicycle parking spaces, these now turn into “high-security” bike parking spaces for the tenants of the 12 storey building. The doors of the vault weigh about 16,000 pounds. They’ve been rigged though, so they don’t actually close and lock up.
That doesn’t stop these vaults from being the safest bicycle parking spaces on earth!
