Ladybug mobile information unit uses solar panels to power up

Designer Sabrina Gatto’s Mobile Information Unit is more than just a boring old information kiosk, the type you come across at railway stations, amusement parks and the likes. Here’s why. Inspired by the lady bug, this mobile information unit, also called the Ladybug, uses solar energy to charge up its batteries and power up with solar panels integrated in the wing-like structures. Made from polycarbonate sheets, these wings also sport touchscreen LCDs on the inner side and when closed, the unit as a whole can easily be moved without having to spend a considerable amount on logistics. The three wheels at the bottom enable the unit to be hooked on to the back of a car or a van and dragged around, making it a perfect one-of-a-kind information kiosk.
