• Supiore unveils a solar-panel-topped electric boat, the Uno

  • supioreuno
Give a vehicle a shade of green and it’s bound to turn heads and grab attention quicker than the usual. Dutch boat manufacturer Supiore understands this ideology well enough to have come up with this swanky new water traveler powered by sun juice. Called the Uno, this stylish and eye-catching electric boat is topped with photovoltaic panels that soak in solar energy to power up the boat. Sporting a huge 100% Electric promise on its hull, the boat can travel for up to six hours on a single charge, as the solar panels also help trickle in charge.

Measuring 5.25-m (17-ft), the Supiore Uno’s speed is electronically limited to 10 knots (18.5 km/h, 11.5 mph) and the boat uses solar panels that have been designed to keep charging with only a minimal decrease in efficiency. When plugged into an electricity outlet, the Uno’s recharge rate increases to 20 percent/hour, making sure you don’t spend too much time re-juicing your faithful sea-faring friend.
