They’re small, they’re rare and they’re incredibly fast. Caterham Cars’ contraptions have had a long-standing love affair with the automotive world. The company has recently unveiled yet another little rocket, based on the Seven CSR chassis. Christened the Caterham AeroSeven Concept, this car was unveiled at the SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. Significantly more technology-advanced than the previous cars Caterham had to offer, the car has F1 aerodynamic features.
Packing a CTI-developed 2-liter, 4-cylinder, normally-aspirated Ford Duratec engine that produces 237bhp (176 kW) with 206 Nm (152 lb ft) of torque, the car has a power-to-weight ratio of about 365bhp/ton. As an icing on the cake, this car promises to touch the 62mph mark in well below 4 seconds.
