This Valentine’s Day, visitors to the Times Square in New York will be greeted with a unique heart-shaped boardwalk designed by Brooklyn-based Situ Studio. What makes the Heartwalk special are the materials used to building this installation. The Heartwalk is crafted from reused boardwalk boards salvaged from Long Beach, Sea Girt, and Atlantic City after Hurricane Sandy.
An installation that will attract loads of visitors looking for some space to share a little time together this Valentine’s Day, the Heartwalk will include two ribbons of elevated wood planks that will curve together, forming a heart shape. A perfect way to pay homage to those affected by Hurricane Sandy, the Heartwalk will spread the love this Valentine’s Day.
