Seems like the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headset now has something to worry about. Sony, the company hailed for its creation of the Playstation, has now revealed the fruit of its labor, the “Project Morpheus” PS4-compatible VR system. The company has been rumored to have begun development on this swanky project about three years ago and this is the first peek we’ve had at the new VR system. Project Morpheus isn’t just a regular peripheral but functions as a system upgrade for the PS4.
The headset enables wearers to experience the best of gaming with a five-inch 1080p LCD screen with a 90 degree field of view. That apart, Project Morpheus also packs technology from the Playstation Camera and Playstation Move for better motion tracking and control. The first version of the Project Morpheus VR headset is wired and requires a USB and HDMI connection. Sony hasn’t spoken about the pricing details yet.
