An aide to help the blind and visually impaired, designer Calin Giubega designed the Munivo. This little device helps visually impaired people and works as a guide, making their day-to-day life a lot easier. The little device fits into the fist of a user and using pressure factors and the sensitive capabilities of one’s own hand, producing a map of sorts in the palm of a blind person. Using pressure points and such, the device recognizes obstacles and informs regarding the same too. Using actuators in the form of spheres that operate on two axes, X and Y, the device suggests travel directions and helps the visually impaired move about without too much of a bother.
A device aimed at helping the blind and visually impaired “see” with the help of touch, the Munivo hopefully turns into a lot more than just a thought-of design.
