While the rest of the world has been cutting down trees to make way for structures capable of human inhabitation, Lisbon-based design studio Nini Andrade Silva thinks differently. The studio unveiled a breathtaking design of a hotel designed around the trunk of a fig tree, called the Beautique Hotel Figueira. Located at the Figueira Plaza in Lisbon, the structure sports an extremely organic touch and is the perfect blend between nature and modern-day architecture.
The entire hotel literally surrounds the fig tree and uses it as a center point on each level. The curvy structural design of the hotel’s interiors somewhat add a dash of mystery evoke a sense of awe. For some unseen reasons, this hotel reminds us of the humongous tree that featured in the Avatar film!
