On the 8th of September 1926, a legend was born in Turin. Now, nearly eight decades after, the world has lost one of its best automobile designers, Sergio Pininfarina. Born Sergio Farina, he went ahead to create history in the world of automobiles and is fondly remembered today for having crafted out vehicles for Alfa Romeo, Cadillac, Ferrari, Fiat, Honda, Jaguar, Lancia, Maserati, Peugeot, Rolls-Royce and others. Having joined his family design firm in 1961, Sergio Pininfarina continued to chisel out some of the most amazingly designed and aesthetically pleasing cars ever created, including Ferrari F40, a car way ahead of its time and the 2003 Maserati Quattroporte. And that’s not all. He also was crowned Senator for life of the Italian Republic and was known as an active member of politics too.
We celebrate the life of this extraordinary designer who breathed his last on the 3rd of July 2012 and will continue seeking inspiration from one of the greatest and most celebrated artist from the world of automobiles Sergio Pininfarina.
