Showing off the French designs and brains, Renault recently exhibited a range of electric concept cars, Renault ZE, at the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung, Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. The range consists of a city car, hatchback, saloon and van which are designed to recharge in three minutes. The company says that owners can keep spare batteries in the home or workplaces and it seems that garages can start installing systems where electric car owners can drop off their batteries for recycling. They plan to launch this commercially from 2011.

Renault will also be launching its Kangoo Z.E. Concept cars, light commercial vehicles designed for professionals, by 2011. Then comes a family car called Fluence Z.E. Concept that will be launched first in Israel, in 2011 followed by other countries. Various other plans are being conceptualized by Renault for 2011. So after one more year of gas guzzling vehicles, you can look forward to electric cars and solar-powered alternatives.
