No longer will your car’s dashboard have just a few gauges and switches. And if the dashboards we have around today confuse you, the one’s coming up in the future are sure to leave you in a dazed confusion. But then again, figuring out a dashboard and its controls isn’t rocket science. Even kids are designing some of these today. High school students may soon be the one’s who design dashboards of the future. The kids came up with some pretty awesome ideas that could make driving a great experience for some, and a matter of confusion for the others. In-dash driver coaching avatars, smart navigation systems that suggest the timely use of public transport, web-connected dashboards and a whole lot more. The brains behind these ideas were three teams, Dash Tech of Dearborn, Michigan, EDV Technologies of Santa Barbara, California and Harker Innovation Team of San Jose, California, who are the finalists of the contest DASH+. The competition sure has stirred the minds of these kids, leading to some pretty cool ideas which, if used, will change the automotive industry in future.
