Encapsulated by a caravan

caravan_1.jpg Urban living has both its plus and minus points. You live in cramped quarters; hence you want to break free to natural habitats every now and then. I know many families that own campers but seriously, trailing a huge buggy behind my small car is a bit too overwhelming for me. A small stint with Mother Nature using a tent isn't my style either. The only reprievable solution would be something like this Capsule Caravan by designer David Tonkison. It's small enough to fit into a standard garage, so parking it in a cityscape will not be an issue. It hooks on to a decent-size car and can be trailed to the nearest campsite without much fuss.

The coolest thing is that the caravan splits open like a pea-pod to two distinct areas. The living area or the Comfort Pod gives you the bare minimum living amenities and the Service Pod gives you the basic utility functions. The large central window streams in the natural light. However if the light gets too much you can turn it opaque at the flick of a switch thanks to the electro chromatic film on it.
