The Ant AV Tricycle is a concept visualized by Jonathan Igharas. Inspired by the bicycle and tricycle cultures worldwide, the ANT AV Tricycle has been visualized as platform for urban communication and to alter common misconceptions surrounding pedal powered mobility. A utility tricycle from Beijing was used as the base model for the Ant AV Tricycle. Aluminum composite, steel, bamboos have transformed the tricycle, which was then introduced as a mode of urban transport that will especially appeal to music junkies. Powered by a rechargeable marine battery and a power inverter, the Ant AV Tricycle is designed to house the essential audio/visual equipment. The music inspired tricycle enables DJs and VJs to freely roam city streets and meander through the narrowest of alleyways. Sliding rails allow for quick deployment and easy access to the platform contained within while a side-access storage cabinet offers extra storage space.
The tricycle was the designer’s final studio project at Emily Carr University of Art & Design.
