Thomas Meyerhoffer, a Swedish designer has developed a new surfboard which is touted to be the most radical leap in surfboard design in the last 50 years. Named the Meyrhoffer board, this surfboard has been shaped like an hourglass to emphasize nose riding and tail riding for leisurely surfers. The Meyerhoffer board is designed like a longboard that rides like a quicker more maneuverable shortboard. The Meyerhoffer board was launched globally in May 2009.
Thomas who worked on creating this board since 2004 must definitely be pleased with the result. To read more in detail about his design, check out this New York Times article or this one at global surf industries.
