The helping hand is an innovative concept device that helps to restore the functionality of a paralyzed upper limb. By wearing it a person, who has lost control over his or her upper limb due to stroke, can do routine tasks like holding objects, eating and even writing. Designed by Joseph Cooper, it works through a neuro-implant in the human brain which transmits signals and controls the device. The users can move their arms, hands or fingers by simply thinking of the action. The straps are designed such that they take their position automatically when the device is switched on. Moreover the device can be put on and taken off by using one hand only making it user friendly too.
