• Solar powered floating school built in Bangladesh

  • In areas prone to flooding, setting up infrastructure can prove worthless. So, in Bangladesh, a non-profit organization called Shidhulai Swanirvar Sangstha has come up with a fantastic way to provide students with year-round education facilities, using a fully-equipped floating school! Made from locally-sourced natural materials, the boat powers up using solar energy.

The boat includes rooftop solar panels, a library and computers with internet connectivity. Capable of accommodating 30 students at a time, the boat can collect students from villages around, have them spend their time at school, and drop them off at their river-bank homes!
