People suffering mobility problems usually suffer from a skin disorder called bedsores. Also known as pressure sores or pressure ulcers, these develop over time and are difficult to treat and live with. The doctors at the University of Calgary recently tested 37 patients recently to develop this smart underwear that prevents bedsores.
Delivering jolts of electricity to a wearer’s derriere, this piece of clothing is required to be used for about 10 seconds every 10 minutes for 12 hours a day for a month. The garment prevents bedsores from occurring and could very well be used in hospitals and homes alike, giving patients limited to their beds a load of respite.
