I love change, innovation, fusion, revolution of all sorts. If something defies convention, I become an instant fan! Accordingly, I have now become the fan of this extremely unique musical instrument called the ‘Pilcrow’. Pilcrow combines elements from percussion and string instruments and is a beautiful fusion. This has been designed by Henrik Amberla in Köln International School of Design. The main part in the instrument is the key that is made of a steel rod to be played by either hitting or plucking. The shape looks very unique to me. In fact it resembles a half guitar. Just like in a guitar, the pitch can be freely adjusted by moving the key up and down the saddle. As an electric instrument it is compatible with all standard plugs, wires, effects and amplifying devices.
