Soon, airport security won’t be half as tedious as it currently is. Future technology will make these security checks faster and a lot more fool proof too, thanks to lasers! Scientists at Michigan State University have come up with a way to use lasers to scan commuters quickly. A chemistry professor at the university named Marcos Dantus has designed a bomb-detecting laser that can detect bomb-making materials.
The system uses just a single laser beam with two pulses and is 100% safe for use to scan people as well as their luggage. Fear not, this laser won’t burn a hole through you, unlike popular belief! The technology is expected to receive its finishing touches within the year with the proper funding and airport security-check lines are expected to shorten thereafter.
