Traditionally soup was always served in a serving bowl called the ‘tureen’. But it’s the 21st century now and the usual round, deep, oval shaped tureen has undergone a makeover courtesy Apostol Tnokovski. This innovative designer has designed the new age sphere shaped tureen that has an integrated cap or a lid if I may call it that. That cap functions like a rail mechanism that has to be opened by sliding. This egg shaped white spherical has two cute little handles to hold from the sides. No matter how cute this looks, it somehow reminds me of a boy’s head. Nevertheless while the function and purpose remains the same, a slight change in the design looks refreshingly welcome.
