Haven’t you always wanted a smart and responsible helper for your house that would move around with your beck and call and work towards keeping your house clean? A human form may be difficult to find, but ‘Tufan’ is a electronic robot that looks no less than a suave sports car painted in yellow, white and black. Functionality wise the main feature that attracted me to this design is the ability of the robot to allow video-conferencing, in other words, tele-presence. Apart from the usual robotic features of cleaning the floor, the telepresence allows you to talk to the robot through a screen displaye don its head and also keep a check on the house when you’re away. The robot can also be integrated in your home’s energy management and is able to operate the power system, like a remote control. Tufan’s head not only displays the basic information on the screen, but also expresses emotions like sighing when the work is too much. I think the only thing that distinguishes this from its contemporary designs is that Tufan comes across as a very friendly and amiable robot!
