Iceland’s pylon design competition has been known to astonish the world with their creative overdoses and mind-boggling imagination. This year too the entry that’s created waves in the competition but unfortunately isn’t the winning entry is “Land of Giants” project. This project did emerge as a winner in 2010 Boston Society of Architects Unbuilt Architecture Award. The idea of the design competition was a new typology for Iceland’s high voltage power lines and pylons. Their designer version of pylons transforms those humdrum pylons into larger-than-life pieces of art.
Though these are never gonna be seen on Iceland’s landscapes the designers still deserve a pat on the back for the half a dozen poses they created for the 45m-tall figurines. A commendable job definitely!
