Laptops are meant to be portable, but many of us have ours transfixed to our workstations all the time. Maybe out of sheer laziness or not finding it necessary to lug our pieces, this portable creature has become a permanent fixture instead. However designer Johannes Holl envisages the future as a hectic schedule for busy execs who will require hauling their lappies all around town. Even the time spent in commute will be filled with you working on the comp. Actually that’s not such a far-fetched idea; I can picture myself blogging on the go whilst stuck in major traffic jams!
The Instrument is a modern working notebook that offers a mixture of ergonomics and mobility by using two flexible connected modules. The screen can be arranged either beneath or above the keyboard as per the requirements. Turning a module can change the placement. The Instrument is a mobile laptop and a controlling device for ergonomic work in different positions. Maybe the future Bond or Indiana Jones can use this lappie on their expeditions.
Thanks Johannes
