Like stalactites looming, the textile threads used in the Sttt table poses a unique blend of wood and mesh. Mixing soft textures with a hard structure, designer Stefanie van Keijsteren believes he has created an area where words and phrases on the table flow. It reflects how he has experienced stuttering. An emotional representation of his spoken language barrier; the table reflects the flow of the conversation being broken by the odd stutter. Previously thought to be a hindrance in one’s personality, stuttering is no longer considered a flaw or handicap. Confidence and mind conditioning is all it takes to get over the problem.
