I’m no nomad, I love being where I am. Even when I’m travelling, I like to do it in style and comfort. So the Chairless chair designed by Alejandro Aravena from Vitra seems quite uncomfortable to me. It is dubbed as the “seating device for the modern nomad.” It is nothing but a strap that you put around your knees and back which allows you to lean back, but not without discomfort. I’m less than impressed. It looks like it will cause a lot of soreness rather than avoid it. But it’s nice to see that a part of the proceeds will be used to support the Foundation for Paraguayan Indian Communities.
