Light Tree by Omar Huerta
360° Ceiling Lamp jazzes up your living space
Innovation in our living space is all about juggling with materials and kinky designs that could do wonders to the way we look and manage things. Check out this unique lamp named 360° Ceiling Lamp. Made out of white plastic and mirror surface, it doesn’t even come across as a lamp until we switch on the light. This is the way we’d liked to be ambushed by our lighting fixtures. The light has a well thought out construction and one can choose from white surface or mirrored surface, depending on the environment. The easy to assemble lamp has original laser engraving which is sure to add special charm to your room. Another ambush is the superfluous circle in the middle of the lamp which is actually a bookmark! Thank me for you’d have done away with it if I wouldn't have let that out!
Mirror ironing board closet doubles as a lamp
Konzept Design has developed, the “Mirror ironing board closet” and it is the brain child of Nils Wodzak. It's extremely convenient for those who do their laundry at home. It's a complete package that includes all your ironing equipments, including iron, board and spray bottle, into a small closet that doubles as a mirror and triples as a lamp to illuminate your room. What more can you ask for? All one has to do is open the mirror cum ironing board, plug in the iron. Then you can simply hide it all behind the mirror once again. No mess at all. Where there isn't enough space and the house is modern, this will fit right in. ‘Favorite Things’ lamp displays your favorites
At Stockholm Furniture Fair the Scandinavian-Asian design company Chen Karlsson showcased this very interesting lamp called ‘Favorite Things’ Te lamp allows you to display you favorite things in it while it is illuminated. The design is mainly meant to spotlight objects of deep interest of the owner inside the lamp that can be put in through an aperture at the side of the lamp. You can thus exhibit your personal favorite items in it and it does look good in the dark and when it is illuminated.

‘Forget-Me-not’ convenient umbrella
Imagine a rainy afternoon when you’re rushing past to reach the coffee shop to catch up with your friends, and you’ll chat and chat and then get up and leave when it’s evening. Everything goes well, except for the fact that you left your wet umbrella in the coffee shop itself. Now take a flashback into your life and think about all the pretty umbrellas you have ever left back at such common places. Now, this will not be a problem anymore, because with the ‘dangling umbrella’, you can conveniently dangle the umbrella to the edge of the table or a bar. The handle slides apart so that the cap can be slipped over the edge of a table or bar. When the cap is opened, it lights up with the words “Don’t forget.” Silicon on the underside of the cap helps it grip the surface. I think this is a very handy and useful thing, and I guess all umbrellas should have this mechanism too!

Vertical Rainbow Spectacle to titivate Guggenheim Museum’s Rotunda
The Guggenheim building in New York has been a central forum for artists and architects to showcase their eccentric designs for years now. For the occasion of the Guggenheim’s 50th anniversary, 200 architects, designers and architects have been invited for participating in the upcoming exhibition which will feature the renderings of these visionary projects in a salon-style installation. One of the participating designers is Atelier ted noten and his contribution is the vertical rainbow which is a decorative intervention intended to beautify the museum’s central rotunda.
