Blair Hasty designs a ‘Collapsible Bike’

Collapsible_Bike.jpg Bicycle is always the best option to travel to nearby distances and is ecological for the same reason too. But more often than not we do not find storage space to carry things on the bike, which becomes a little difficult. Also many a times, the strain on the lower back makes it difficult to ride on longer distances. Blair Hasty has thought of a unique concept and has designed a bike that has ample storage space, does not harm the body posture while riding and is collapsible. Sounds too good to be true. But yes, he has designed such a bike that was a finalist in the 2004 International Bicycle Design Competition in Taiwan and featured in the spring issue of Innovation Magazine. He repositioned the pedal to the back of the bike which moved the strain off the lower back, elbows, and buttocks and onto the pelvic bone and forearms. Also a large bag was placed in place where the pedal would have been originally. Apart from your usually thing that you would carry while commuting, the bike also could be collapsed to be able to fit in that bag.
