Snowflake speaker to dock your iPhone

snowflake_speaker_dock.jpg
Stick your tongue out during the winter in light snowfall and you’ll have that lovely experience of snowflakes melting on your tongue. Don’t try sticking your tongue out and trying to swallow this snowflake though. Its just too huge and reeking technology for that! The “snowflake” is actually a speaker that will play out loud all those favorite tracks you have piled up in your iPhone. Designed by Sylvain Gerber, this snowflake plays your music with your iPhone docked in, loud and clear. The crystal clear sound and the awesome performance this speaker system delivers makes it a lot more appealing, besides its shape and look. Using ambient lights that change according to the track you’re playing, the speaker is bare backed with the electronics tucked in its base.

BLACK-Camera-1.jpg Gregory Germe has caught my attention with his sleek concept camera, the BLACK Camera. Designed for the book ‘I Miss My Pencil”, this camera is truly a showstopper. Boasting of an entire black body, this sleek and slender camera is definitely awesome. According to the designer, the camera is a self protective object in a fold-able design. When closed the lens and screen are protected, facing each other on the inside. Simply rotate the body to expose the controls and click the pictures. The small compact camera is truly a class apart.

The pool above ground that needs no digging

cool-modern-pool.jpg Ever wondered what it feels like to see someone swim in a block of water? Well, here’s something that could simply take your breath away. Who needs those boring old swimming pools in your backyard when you could have one of these above-ground pools? First of all, this pool needs no digging. So you can very well throw that shovel away. Also, it works as a patio too, combined with a pool, saving a hell load of space. This helps create an elevated deck platform. Also, this works as a great view, and keeping kids in mind, it also helps view pool deepness before you can actually step in.

Concept car inspired by Walley super luxury yachts

Wally-Concept-Car-1.jpg We know Walley for the luxury yachts the brand builds. These sleek super luxury vessels now have a counter part on land that follows the special designs the company uses for its sea farers. Designed by automotive design graduate Matthew Hockham from Coventry University, the Walley Concept Car uses the company’s styling and applies the same to a set of four wheels instead of a hull. This will enable Walley’s designs to cruise around on land too, besides water. Using sharp edges and black glass surfaces with hi-tech grey tones, everything we see on Walley creations off land, the car’s side is built based on the Wally Power 118 yacht.

Bringing home the sun with the sun tunnel

sun-tunnel.jpg Now here’s a way to literally bring the sun into your room and brighten up your life. The sun tunnel by Ross Lovegrove is a unique and innovative idea. Basically a solar tube or a sun tunnel as we choose to call it, the system enables channeling sunlight into dark spaces to lighten them up, without the use of electricity. Also, these are easier to install as compared to skylights and are leak proof too, just incase the sun doesn’t show up and the clouds do. The design was sketched and put into being for Italian manufacturer Velux and also uses a hanging, blob-like reflector that helps bounce back light against the ceiling increasing the illuminating effect.

Bracket Clock by Olga Kalugina

Bracket-Clock.jpg Bracket Clock is a unique concept table clock made by Olga Kalugina that has no hands but it is not a digital clock either. In fact, instead of hands the clock tells time via shades. On the border of the clock dial there are two rows of light tubes. The first row indicates the hours while the second, the minutes. What is more, due to its unique design that protects it from light, the clock will tell time via the shades during broad daylight as well. The case is made of silver. The beautiful design matched by the unique time telling method is sure to make this concept watch a must-have table/desk accessory. What is more, through this clock the designer hopes to remind the consumers that time is fleeting, it is only a shade.

Fab-Lab-House.jpg Now if we’d have to come across this one in the dead of the night, we’d probably scare our pants off into thinking it’s a space ship. Karim Mektigian’s White Desert Coffee Table is a beauty

white_desert_coffee_table_1.jpg Experimenting with the design of a regular coffee table is designer Karim Mektigian who has designed the White Desert Coffee Table. Karim has designed the table for Hid'n. Unlike a normal coffee table whose surface is flat, you will notice a small dip in the middle of Karim’s table. This unique “pot hole” in the middle of the table allows you to experiment with your décor and adorn your coffee table with unique items like fruits and other decorative pieces. Personally I would love to fill this bowl-shaped formation with my favorite treats so I can nibble on them during the many coffee table conversations I share with my girl friends.
