Traveling to and fro from one end of the city to the other every day takes a lot of my time. I use this time to get my share of snooze (can you think of anything better than that?). 4 out of 5 times it’s a failed attempt what with everyone on the bus seeming over-excited, chirpy and with an aim to keep me awake, or so it seems. I had to beat them and now I know how! I need a Napper! Designer Hao Huang brings us a mouse concept that removes the extravagant casing of a regular mouse presenting a minimal, though revolutionary, design for the ease of use as well as transportation. It has two buttons for right or left click and when they are not in use, they can be attached to each other with magnetic force. This button mouse functions wirelessly as it comes integrated with signal emitter & storage battery that transmits power to the buttons. It lies parallel on the desktop on off mode and needs to be pressed simultaneously for scrolling making it ideal for left and right handed users. Only time will tell the mouse's comfort. We always encourage modern bicycle designs with good mechanical ergonomics. Here’s a latest bicycle design by Krizarl Calanglang and it claims to be an Eco concept. Although there aren’t any details available on the functioning of this bicycle, my intuition tells me the green valve adjoining the hind wheel must have something innovative in store.

A toothbrush is one of the most personal accessories that we use to maintain hygiene which we would like to keep dust free and clean. We wouldn’t like to compromise on the health issues not even while traveling. This solid aluminum case with brass hinges and a carrying handle created by Dominic Wilcox should answer our above need. It may be a tad heavy but the thought that the toothbrush is neatly packed surely offsets its drawback.

Often it happens that we go shopping on our bike and on return are in a dilemma as where to put all our bags, but not anymore. Red Dot Design Award winner for 2009, Biquattro is an electric bike that offers ease of mobility with convenience of storage space. It can be driven on two wheels and when the need arises the rear wheel can be split transforming the bike into a tricycle with a storage unit. The storage unit has a volume up to 150 litres. It has battery powered motor lasting thirty kilometers per charge with a charging time of only three hours. Alternatively it can be ridden like a bicycle using the pedals. Designed by Valentin Vodev, Biquattro is a versatile electric bike in the true sense.

Construction sites, roads and hazardous locations require safety boards which read, “Danger”, which always gets overrun. But even in that case, the law should have provisions to protect its defaulters (just to show that it still cares, just as god cares for all its subjects) Here’s a brilliant design concept which upholds and executes the above-mentioned theory. It’s a Warning sign that doubles as a Transformable stretcher to swiftly transform the victims out of the danger zone. The signboard is composed of a tough, durable fabric that becomes the stretcher bed and the lightweight legs of the frame become the stretcher frame.

If you were aware of the principle that everything in this world is a manifestation of energy, you’d know exactly how to produce it or put it to good use. Energy is renewable through the most unconventional sources and one of them is mechanical energy. Take for example this Energy Ball that uses Piezoelectric material to convert impact energy into electricity to power an attachable reading light. If you happen to live on one of the hillocks in Brazil, where their electricity wires and power grid are entwined in the most complicated and irretrievable manner, the Energy Ball could come in very handy. Designer Travis Clark has designed a concept Forklift that will definitely aid the drivers of this contraption. The concept forklift’s overhead components are angled in such a way as to provide maximum vision to the driver. What is more, the seat and pedals can spin around a whole 180 degrees to ease driving in reverse. There is also a first aid kit placed in a compartment on the side of this forklift. The sleek design and color scheme are an added USP of this forklift.

This Table Will Self Destruct is a series of tables which will not go into second production. Designed by Donna Piacenza and Jody Work they are not just of limited edition but also exclusive. The table top is made of a grid of concrete pixels. With each new piece, one pixel is removed from the design, thus personalizing it and resulting in self destruction of the design. Production of the table will cease when the shape is no longer practical.
