Bails brings cricket fans a watch to flaunt their interest in the game!

watch.jpg Here is a treat for all the cricket lovers and non-cricket lovers too, according to me, brought to you by BAILS. Well, for cricket fans, this 6 series watch designed for those who would love to flaunt their love of the game and the success number of the game- 6! Styled beautifully, the watch does reflect the number six in an abstract way. As far as the non-cricket fans are concerned, to me the shape of the dial, the entire watch looks interesting, like some kind of trophy cup of something. Go for it anyway! [coroflot]

Colorful and playful benches for the garden

bench1.png Now this is what I call creativity at its best! All parks that I have ever seen have these standard benches and trash bins. Q Lee has experimented with the boring and drab and technical looking benches for the parents in gardens and has come up with something completely interesting, colorful and playful that is very kid friendly. These benches are made of metal rods and plastic rotation molding. Looks very very cute, but I’m not sure if parents would be comfortable sitting on it. For one, it doesn’t provide a back rest. I think the kids might just forget the swings and hop on these, for all you know! [dreamandstep]

X-Out is a cool looking fire extinguisher

x-out_fire_extinguisher.jpg Facts first- K extinguishers are used to douse the fires involving vegetable and animal oils as well as fats. Such fire extinguishers have always been extremely popular in restaurants, but now are getting popular in residential kitchens as well. Jim Ruck has designed this extremely good looking fire extinguishes called ‘X-Out’ that bolts easily to the wall. It has a hard wired powercord, and a battery backup. An amazing features is that it has got heat sensors which once over a certain temperature, senses the heat and sets off the extinguisher. Made of stainless steel, it lets you know the status of it being charged or uncharged. A very modern day design, this extinguisher is perfect for modern homes.

OVO Washing Machine by Murat Ozveri is funky

OVO-Washing-Machine.jpg I have always loved stylish washing machines, but an intelligent washing machine is my cup of tea. The OVO washing machine by Murat Ozveri falls in the former category as it lays more emphasis on the ‘looks’ aspect. The cool features of the OVO washing machine are the interchangeable colourful faceplates and a built-in mini projector that displays different information according to the mode of the machine. When it is in the standby mode, you will see a clock on the glass-face, whereas when it is in the working mode, it displays detailed information about the washing process. But the designer could have done something more about the functionality part of it.

Folding bag: Concept bag by Lijmbach, Leeuw & Vormgeving

Folding_bag.jpg Designers Lijmbach, Leeuw & Vormgeving have come up with the unique concept Folding bag. The sleek looking bag is made from an aluminum polypropylene composite. The bag gets its peculiar shape from natural structures like that of the armadillo. An unsual design for a bag, its material as well as shape is sure to make quite a few heads turn. Since not much information is available we can only guess about the storage space and compartments in this bag.

"Nevroz" by Yann Lestrat has lots of meditative value

Nevroz.jpg "Nevroz" designed by French artist Yann Lestrat for Belgian manufacturer Tamawa looks fun. They make all their products from the Bakelite spheres inspired by the vocabulary of colored balls used in the Eames Hang-It-All coat rack. There is lots of meditative and calming value in this piece as one tries to hold the sphere perfectly still, or balancing it just so on a tabletop. It's a round (Bakelite) bead embedded with a bubble chamber and a circular mark. I think people who are stressed out might want to try this to increase their focus. Apparently it symbolizes "psychic, individual and collective balance."

Pizza side table looks utterly delicious!

pizzabox2.png I have never really seen much innovation done design improvements being made to a side table. It’s always the regular box-like rectangle with a glass top and drawers. Designed by Q Lee, this table is rightly called the ‘Pizza’ side table; this is a typical red and white. The table top is a box like white top and the table legs are interesting pair of red stands. This does truly remind one of a pizza no doubt. It can also be folded easily and can be dismantled and set up with as much ease. [Dreamandstep]

All-in-one Loo is here!

loo.jpg Dang Jingwei has thought of an interesting concept of integrating the toilet essentialities as a one single product. The Home Core concept combine the toilet bowl, sink, mirror and a vanity table to suit every need a user may fell in the bathroom. This table actually reminds me of a dentist’s chair to some extent. Thought not really fit for a normal bathroom, this is perfect for a compact smaller bathroom. There is a water storage tank at the bottom and with a press of a button you can choose whether to store the currently used water (which is used for flushing) or drain it away.

Audio system looks like a spaceship!

audio.jpg Fusion is the latest home audio system that has been put up in the Homezone fair IMM 2010. Built in a white body, it resembles the spaceship from Star Trek. This sure will be a treat to all the Star Trek fans, but with the recent Avatar craze, this looks like the aliens head to me personally. I say. Two birds hit with one stone, the design will definitely be a hit with all the futuristic alien extra terrestrial fans at least. This audio system looks too cool to sit on your desk. I think I’ll definitely have one once it’s out.

Surupi House Extension is a piece of nature at home

Surupi-House-Extension.jpg There are several designers who are inspired by the insects and birds who are excellent architects, take for example the Beetle House posted recently. Designers Arhitektid Muru & Pere have got to be absolute nature lovers to have come up with the concept of Surupi House Extension and their grounds of inspiration is the bird nest. Their house is typically characterized by a box above the original unit “covered by criss-crossed sticks which resembles an angular bird’s nest, a ball of hay that is pressed together, a tangle of boards, all of which glows in the dark” Sounds interesting.
