Very contemporary and urban, the chair can be clicked and clacked into new positions extremely effortlessly. Made of wood essentially, the lounge chair is one modern piece of furniture. Mazda RX-7 will grace the year 2011 instead of the planned 2012, if we go by the reports from Edmund's Inside Line. The introduction of the two-seat RX-7 will lead to the death of the four-seat RX-8 with its 'suicide-style' rear doors since it wouldn't make much sense for Mazda to have three different sports cars (including the MX-5 / Miata) in its lineup. The only little news about Mazda’s new RX mode is that it has a new 1.6 liter (800cc per rotor) rotary engine that is called the 16X Renesis.

Designer Andrea Schoellgen of Netherlands, has designed the concept Schwebebahn train. The train offers commuters ample space and even has a compartment in the middle that offers stroller spaces. Furthermore, passengers in this train can get all information about various routes and timings of trains through information screens that are placed in open spaces. These information screens will aid tourists and first time travelers. To help maintain balance and move about easily in the train there are handrails that guide passengers through the train via a color line.

The latest talk of the town is the British biomass power station which is yet a concept, but involves controversial environmental topics. The visually appealing Teesside plant is basically going to provide fuel to about 50000 homes, will be powered by palm kernel shells and will be covered in greenery. British architect Thomas Heatherwick will design the site in such a way that it will appear to rise up from the ground level and will have grasses and other plants planted on the slope. This way the current barren land will be put to some good green use and will thus boost the greenery and help to restore the flora and fauna to the region. If the project gets approved, it is expected to create hundreds of jobs over its two-year construction period and bring GBP150 million (about US$240 million) dollars of investment to the area.

The modular stairs for dunes by Edmar Brusque is a system that makes the act of climbing sand dunes easier. Primarily it can be used during the practice of sports such as sandboarding. A single module works as a single step. Interlocking several of them, structured in the sand, forms a flight of stairs to any angle of inclination. The project aims to encourage sports activities practiced in sand dunes, thereby reducing the difficulty in climbing them faced by the users. Why hadn’t some one thought of it earlier?

You can now move your vacuum cleaner around the house without the fear of having it unplugged with the newly designed Rambler Socket. As the name suggests, you can actually ramble around with the socket tailing behind you. Extension cords seem out of place and out dated when compared to this new design. This 1.5 meter cord is rolled up and slipped into a hole in the wall behind a socket. When needed, all you need to do is pull the cord out and connect your appliance instead of using an extension. When you’ve finished using it, just give the cord a slight tug. This activates a spring mechanism that helps wind the cord back into the wall. Designed by Meysam Movahedi, the Rambler Socket is idle for use at home for movable appliances. Though skeptics reckon that over heating of the cord may cause short circuits and fires, with a proper insulation in place, this new innovation will surely help do-away with the extension cord.
