Multimedia Chair that offers comfort
I like to lounge around in super comfortable chairs and most multimedia chairs don't offer this. However, Emila’s Media Chair looks good and offers comfort. It features embedded speakers, an iPod dock and a projector. It is made out of a hard plastic shell with soft foam inserts to provide the necessary comfort to allow users to enjoy their media. You can pick between leather and other fabrics. It also comes with four adjustable telescopic legs to provide the best seating position. We have no word on when it will go into production. I like that comfort and technology is brought together. Temporary shelter for the homeless
Designer Jacob Sbriigo Savariego Jacob has designed a carriage that doubles up as a temporary home for the homeless. The carriage is simple and easy to use and its portability and easy storage of equipment make it an extremely useful creation. The carriage is especially good during bad weather as it provides the homeless with a temporary shelter. The hygienic shelter gives the homeless a roof over their heads. An extremely durable creation, its manufacturing process is also very simple. The NW1 Table- Crafted By Hands
This is NW1 table from Nicholai Wiig Hansen’s pottery. It consists of more than 62 kg of wet clay and is made in a Danish pottery. He has made liberal use of blue, green, brown and beige colors in making the table. The inspiration for the color combinations comes from Nordic painters like Lundstorm and Munck. Moreover Nicholai Wiig Hansen comes from an artistically inclined family and the artistic touch seems quite evident in his table. He is proud to declare that the table is made by hands. The only disadvantage though I feel is of the table’s weight, it’s a bit too heavy. Multifunctional Futuristic Bathroom
Even though this multifunctional bathroom layout looks novel, simple, and free of furniture and fittings, there is much more (literally) than what appears to lie below the surface of this simple design idea. When totally closed, the space functions as a recreation area or free standing shower space with water that sprays from the ceiling. When opened up with a set of hydraulic cylinders, a part of the floor becomes a set of benches around a sunken bathtub with all the fittings. Simultaneously a series of flat screens in the background provide a variety of entertainment to the users. This is how designer Michal Mitek visualizes bathrooms of the future. Hmm… a multifunctional space saving bathroom to look forward to. Justin Richards defines his home office
Justin Richards ‘home-office’ concept has left me a little confused as far as architecture is concerned. The best thing about concept designs is that they need not always be practical and useful. They may be successful even if the design is new and innovative. This, I’m not sure is innovative, but to me looks a little weird. The designer justifies his design by stating that it is a consistent system of woodwork throughout- a composite bridle joint held by a pin. Though it looks different, i’m not really convinced it this can be used to work in reality. Pharmacy designed by Karim Rashid is a treat for the eye!

Move like a cheetah with Pablo Lopez's "Pardo" concept cycle
Argentinian designer Pablo Lopez's "Pardo" concept is designed to place the rider in a posture resembling that of a cheetah. This makes the cycle really unique and nothing like anything we've seen before. Power is delivered to the single rear wheel via pedals, but not of the rotating variety; the rider is meant to hunch and straighten his body, pressing down on both pedals during extension, and a mechanism transfers that motion into rotating force, transferred to the wheel via chain. Sounds like a lot of thought went into designing this baby. The designer didn't have to stress over how practical this vehicle is as it was meant to be as creative and as fun as possible. There is a prototype of it, but we doubt it will ever go into production.

Nissan V2G concept car
Sci-fi freaks and car enthusiasts who are interested in technology of the future will surely be bowled over by Nissan’s V2G concept car design that is part of the Youthmobile 2030 design challenge being exhibited at the 2009 LA Auto Show. The designers are expected to design a car for young drivers for the year 2030 and the V2G is the product of one such team’s imagination. The Nissan V2G concept is an electric car that would drive on a network of electrified highways. Keeping in view LA’s car modifying culture, the car is designed in such a way that its parts can be snapped on and off by the owner. These parts would be also be made from carbon nanotunbe cloth impregnated with bio resin, allowing them to be endlessly recycled. The concept car boasts of a small cabin mounted on six wheels, two on the back and four up front on extended arms. Zeo: Your personal sleep coach
Even a good night’s sleep is become a luxury for many. That is why we see inventions like the Vertical Bed and the more recent Zeo that helps you get that much needed shut eye. The Zeo is a device that acts as a personal sleep coach. The device consists of a bedside display and a headband to track the user’s sleep patterns. All the user needs to do is wear the headband while he/she sleeps and the device will display and track the users sleep patterns. The device also syncs with an online component that features a sleep journal, sleep tools and other ways to learn more about the user. After studying the pattern, Zeo then recommends ways to change or alter the user’s lifestyle or sleep pattern in order to get a better sleep. However Zeo makes no guarantees on ensuring a good, nights sleep and instead aims at giving the user information about their sleeping patterns.
