The Klein Bottle house wins world’s best home award
The winner of the world’s best home award at this year’s world architecture festival went to the Klein Bottle house by McBride Charles Ryan. The unique holiday home is located in Australia's Mornington Peninsula and features a living room perched on a canopy of trees. The house is inspired by its name, the Klein bottle which is a 19th century invention used to describe a form which has no distinguishable inside or outside. The design of the house celebrates the country's traditional beach house and is definitely a sight to look at. The house is made from concrete sheets and black metal, which are both folded and twisted to create the angles. Equipped with all modern amenities, this house is both practical and useful. Nanoblock Series looks really cool and adorable
The Nanoblock series by Daisuke Hiraiwa is really cute and it shows the designer's architectural background. It's almost like some cool new accessories for a high tech and futuristic doll house. Over here, objects set into the tabletop, which turns it into a display case of sorts and it looks really pretty. Take a look to see what I'm talking about. I feel like I want this tabletop in life size. Nanoblock comes with a table and chair. Zaha Hadid's gorgeous tap
I love bathroom fixtures that come with a lot of curves. Zaha Hadid and Triflow, a British company have come together to present to us a very stylish and futuristic tap. It gets its inspiration from the movement of water, the designs are a formal expression of the continuous flow of liquid – merging tap spout, body and handle in a seamless trajectory of curvilinear geometries. Here, the filtered drinking water is delivered through a dedicated waterway thereby isolating it from the hot and cold water streams - controlled by the tap’s discreet handle. There are also touch sensitive buttons. The tap is absolutely gorgeous and it almost looks like a beautiful swan to me. Legacy 2.5GT VIP concept car by Subaru is a little over the top
Shopping carts to be replaced by new shopping transportation?
Shopping carts are really cool if you get to travel in them. So kids are going to be mighty disappointed, if this project on shopping transportation goes mainstream. It's objective is minimize the weight carried by the user in a packaging that is more compact than that of a shopping cart, but still provides a comfortable ride on urban terrain. The grip is of utmost importance here. The carrier can be used for transporting up to 22 kg (48,5 lbs) in bags of any material, and is made of a chromed steel structure, polyurethane wheels and a rubber-coated polyethylene grip. It looks rather sleek and easy to use. I'm sure it will break the hearts of kids all over.
Blair Hasty designs a ‘Collapsible Bike’
Bicycle is always the best option to travel to nearby distances and is ecological for the same reason too. But more often than not we do not find storage space to carry things on the bike, which becomes a little difficult. Also many a times, the strain on the lower back makes it difficult to ride on longer distances. Blair Hasty has thought of a unique concept and has designed a bike that has ample storage space, does not harm the body posture while riding and is collapsible. Sounds too good to be true. But yes, he has designed such a bike that was a finalist in the 2004 International Bicycle Design Competition in Taiwan and featured in the spring issue of Innovation Magazine. He repositioned the pedal to the back of the bike which moved the strain off the lower back, elbows, and buttocks and onto the pelvic bone and forearms. Also a large bag was placed in place where the pedal would have been originally. Apart from your usually thing that you would carry while commuting, the bike also could be collapsed to be able to fit in that bag.

The ‘Analog’ radio with a touch of modernity
These days even the simplest invention like the radio has become digital that we have almost forgotten the analog ones where one had to physically tune to get a clear and undisturbed frequency of a radio channel. But the Il-gu-cha R1 Radio takes us back to the past but also takes us forward to the future by bringing out the R1 Radio that looks nothing more than a normal switch. But in reality this simple looking white box allows users to turn the gadget on or off, and control volume and tuning simply by physically rolling the radio forward, backward and sideways. The speakers are also visible on the underside of the radio. It is quite a fun concept and is very portable too. Now water your plants in Style!
Stylish and minimal, yet at the same time striking, this innovative watering can design defines being functional, practical and always aesthetically pleasing. With a volume capacity of 1.5 liters, it is made of 18-0 stainless steel with a flexible silicone hose. The hose has a built-in magnet that makes it easy to get attached to the can’s body when not in use. When watering your plants, simply hold the metal cylinder with one hand and the hose in the other. To start or stop the water flow, just move the metal cylinder up or down. Available in brushed or mirror-polished steel finishes as well as glossy red or white powder-coated options.
