Camper Cart: A concept functional habitat

This unique project has been designed as part of an investigation to study habitats and housing, recycling and ecology; exploration and mobility. German designers create the lavish Froschkönig tree house

treehouse.jpg Luxury is no longer limited to just your lavish indoors. German designers have taken luxury to new heights (literally) with their unique project, the Froschkönig tree house. A design masterpiece, this amazing tree house is an architectural delight. Located in a small private garden in Münster this space hovers above a flat pool, framed by eight Asymmetrical arranged high bamboo stilts. The visitors must walk across 3 natural-stone steps between water-lilies to reach the stair case to this tress house. The curved cabin in the middle of the pool is covered with zinc-sheet and-wood lamellas of Tatajuba underneath. Sunlight shines through the large windows on each side of the cabin. There is also a sky roof in the form of a large rooftop-window lying above the pallet surface. The minimalistic interior adds to the charm of this space whose walls, floor and furniture are white ash-glazed in color. The drawers under the bed provide storage space in this simple tree home.

Solar powered eco racing car Endeavour

endeavour.jpg Britain’s hoping to use this baby for the 3,000km Global Green Challenge. It’s an eco racing car called 'Endeavour' which was created by Cambridge University's eco racing student team. It was first taken on road for a test drive at Ford's Dunton Technical Centre. It goes up to 60mph and is named after the famous ship with which Captain Cook sailed from England to Australia. The power is entirely from solar energy captured by high efficiency silicon cells. For the challenge in October, four student drivers will pilot the vehicle across the outback, working in four-hour shifts to cope with the intense heat.

Urban Frog passenger cum cargo train

passenger_cargo_train.jpg This is so cool. This is the Urban Frog passenger train. Imagine that! An urban FROG train! It is supposedly a futuristic form of transportation that is ‘aesthetically pleasing’ and ideal for a crowded city area. It is designed by Stefan Reto Mathys. It will also apparently create more pedestrian space with its levitating design uses tubes instead of the traditional coaches. The Frog will have five butterfly doors on either side of each tube car. And at night, the frog turns super hero by turning into a cargo carrier. No rest for this froggy! Cute.

The Sound Carpet is a home sound system as well as a space for relaxation and entertainment which at the same time encourages face-to-face interaction. The amazing Sound Carpet has fetched the bright design student the Bronze Award in the Students Design category. The four raised corners smartly hide the speakers and cords underneath them. This not only creates more space but also avoids clutter. The corners can also be used as a place for users to lounge while listening to music, reading, or chatting.

Different lamp designs

Clutch_Light.jpg These are three interesting lights. First is the Clutch Light by Scott Jarvie. It is really interesting. What he has done is use hundreds of plastic, striped, drinking straws. It is based on the structural characteristics of a tree. It is all piled together in a sphere with light emitting from its sides. Wonderful idea. Next is the Bussaba by Tazana. This is really pretty! It is made on stainless steel and is shaped like little flowers, lotuses more specifically with a bulb in the middle of the circle. Very pretty.
