Convertible bunker bed cum sofa set

convertible-modern-couch-bed.jpg This is a very useful concept. It is a convertible bed cum sofa design. It’s a sofa first which can be disfigured and removed and shifted and turned to make into a bunker bed. How cool is that? It can be kept it one corner of the room and at night shifted into this bunker. It’s the best use for roommates. Saving on space and extra furniture. There are even different colour themes to choose form. Is Ikea responsible for this? Has an Ikea touch. Also, another feature is the pillows which can become cushions in the day time. How cool. AND, since it is so easy to fold and unfold, transporting it around will also not be such a tedious affair.

Matryoshka doll night lamps by Russian designer

Matryoshka_doll_night_lamps.jpg Night lights are interesting as you have so many ideas you can work on with. Russian designer Dima Loginoff has designed this night-light inspired by classical and well known doll Matryoshka. According to Wikipedia – ‘A matryoshka doll, a Babushka doll or a Russian nested doll, also called a stacking doll is a set of dolls of decreasing sizes placed one inside the other. The word Matryoshka is a derivative of the Russian female first name Matryona, which was a very popular name among peasants in old Russia. The name Matryona in turn is related to the Latin root, mater that means Mother’. It would have been a great Mother’s Day gift hence. But it’s only a neat looking concept.

Funky aluminum Beer Carrier

beer_carrier.jpg This is a funky beer carrier. It looks useful and also possible. The beer holder contains water and can be put into the freezer. Once the water freezes, you can put it back into the aluminum base and then keep your beer in. we don’t know how long it would stay, in what climates its favorable, etc. the idea is nice, and so is the design but I feel it is best used for house parties or home barbecue – so, there’s no big deal.

Eye Lamp that can shine to your tunes

Eye_lamp.jpg If this concept becomes a reality, then this item will give you the warm sensation of being watched on your every move. Ok, maybe that will be scary too. The Eye Lamp concept is this metal piece of lamp that can be mounted on the wall and which has got these detachable shutters in front of the bulb. Like an eye does, this one also opens up completely when the switch is on and closes half way when it is dimmed and completely when the switch is off. The difference between this and the human eye is that one projects the light while the other absorbs it.

Eye-Pod Victrola iPod mod unveiled

Steampunk_Eye_Pod_Victrola.jpg The Steam Gear Lab has discovered the Eye-Pod Victrola, an Apple iPod nano first generation mod. The Eye-Pod was inspired directly by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and has this huge eye in the middle of the device with something like blood trickling off it. Aside its gory presence it’s supposed to be fully functional. It can be worn on the wrist via the leather cuff or placed on its custom Victrola base. It also has a hidden USB cord that retracts from the base to either a wall charger or one's computer. Another ‘scary’ feature is that ‘there are hidden pressure plates that when touched send a strobing 'static charge' into the quartz crystals on either side of the magnified viewing portal’. The music comes out through the Victrola horn or through a portable personal hearing apparatus.

Mouse pad with a green touch and maybe a solar one too

creative-mouse-pad-lamp-design.jpg This concept looks quite futuristic and to be honest pretty neat. It is a three-in-one item. It has a mouse pad, a solar varying lamp and a zen grass growing pot. The mouse pad does just that move the mouse around and all that jazz. The solar varying lamp changes colour according to the different shades of light throughout the day. The zen grass growing pot is an attachment to the mouse pad and is shaped in a small wave giving a green feel to the whole set up. Now, to be clear, all these are assumptions. It’s a jazzy looking gadget but we aren’t very aware of its exact specifications. Nonetheless, the sound of our fiction (maybe truth) is good.

Egg-shaped dining table futuristic set

futuristic-modular-table-chair.jpg Here’s an idea. If you like more space in your room and yet have a cool looking dining table set, then this concept will make you glad. It is white in colour and shaped to match a sphere. When you are not using the chairs, you can push them all in so they fit within a circle. The centre of this object has a detachable structure that you can lift up to provide light. After dinner is over, you can push it back down and then keep the ‘egg’ dining table into a corner until your next meal.

Collapsible stretcher concept

Collapsible_stretcher.jpg This is the collapsible stretcher. What you can do is fold it and carry it along with you just in case of an emergency. You can carry it as a back pack and at times of emergency, remove it, open it up where it will extend it out and then a foldable stretcher on which the person can be laid on. Convenient. But if this concept works, then the thought remains, why would someone carry a backpack stretcher when you could save yourself space to carry other basic, more relevant necessities?
