Suspension Lamps balance with panache

suspension_lamps_1.jpg You can always find fancy designs that house the light bulb, but tube lights are always conformed to the rigid industrial designs or are simply concealed in POP shafts. Designer Nuno Teixeira has taken a different approach and decided to use a bit of Physics in the designing of the Suspension Lamps. Made from high-density polyurethane with a high gloss paint finish, the lamps are simply artistic. The balance is made possible by placing a solid counter weight in one end that equals to the rest of the lamp. This acrobatic lamp will make an interesting ceiling piece, a departure from the antiquated chandeliers.

Thanks Nuno

Besides its compact size (it fits neatly into your shirt pocket), this High end Micro Projector promises higher image resolution and longer battery life than cellphone projectors. We know that projecting images with the cell phone projector drains the phone and needs constant recharging. The PocketSlides features a built in battery and a 8GB flash derive. The designer Jeff Poon has taken into consideration that the next-gen USB will probably be in use by the time this concept hits the production line, hence has includes USB 3.0 to the device. Another Pyramid in Paris- Le Projet Triangle by Herzog & de Meuron

le_projet_triangle_1.jpg I thought the Parisians were done with triangular forms after the installation in front of the Louvers drew much flack. But the romance with the form has just begun to warm up and architects Herzog & de Meuron have unveiled their design for a triangular building in the Porte de Versailles area of Paris, France. Apparently the triangular profile will prevent the structure casting shadows on adjacent buildings, and allow for optimum solar and wind power generation.

Go- a portable boat design

go1.jpg The thought of a leisurely paddle down the calm stream is so refreshing, however not all of us are fortunate enough to either own a boat or have a car fit enough to tow one down to the pier. Designer John Fenno has a great thing going with his Go portable boat design. The entire boat folds up and can be pulled like a luggage strolly. This recreational boat gives the boater two options as to how he wants to row the boat. He could do it by paddling with his legs or by paddling in a circular motion with his arms. As the designer says, When preparing for a trip to lake or river, the user simply places all necessary items into the boat. Once at the water, the product is easily opened and ready to go.

Flama Vitro “Portable Vitroceramic cook top”

Flama Vitro111.jpg The fast-paced hectic lives of people often leave them with little or no time to indulge in hobbies or passions. I, for instance love cooking, but I hardly get time to indulge in proper meals, because of the tough schedules I have to keep up with. I’m sure many of you are nodding in consent, and wish there was an apt solution. Designer João Carneiro has developed the Flama Vitro “Portable Vitroceramic cook top” with the objective of fitting it into the life of young couples or single people, who are always on the go, with little time to spare. This informal style of this setup brings in the tradition of cooking into lives of those forced to eat TV/microwave dinners.
